Sweet North Accommodation
On the Sweet North trip, you'll sleep soundly in comfortable accommodations that we have chosen specifically for their fantastic locations. You’ll meet friendly hosts and have a private ensuite room each night.
Kohutapu Lodge and Tribal Tours
We are incredibly lucky to be welcomed onto the Toe Toe whānau’s (family) land on the tranquil shores of Lake Aniwhenua. Here we will stay at Kohutapu Lodge which offers modern and inviting accommodation. You'll have your own private room tonight; there is a mix of ensuite accommodation and accommodation where one bathroom is shared between two rooms.
When we arrive at Kohutapu Lodge, we’ll spend the afternoon with the whānau, learning the intricate art of Māori weaving or trying your hand at the world-famous haka, and hearing authentic and personal stories that bring the culture and history of this land to life. In the evening, you’ll enjoy a traditional hangi feast, cooked in the earth, followed by storytelling around the fire. This rare and deeply personal connection to Māori culture is a true privilege. It’s an honour for us to have the opportunity to stay here.
South Pacific Motel
This beautiful complex lies in the heart of Whangamata amongst sub tropical grounds, an excellent location for exploring the Coromandel coastline. The facilities include an outdoor spa, perfect for relaxing after a wondrous day exploring the Sweet North.
Please note, on occasion for operational reasons, we may stay at an alternative but equally attractive and comfortable accommodations.
